Its products include cheese, fluid milk, extended shelf-life milk, and cream products, cultured products, and dairy ingredients. It operates through geographical segments: Canada, USA, International, and Europe. The Canada segment consists of the Dairy Division in Canada. The USA segment refers to the Cheese and the Dairy Foods Division in the USA. The International segment includes the Dairy Division in Australia, and the Dairy Division in Argentina. The Europe Sector comprises of the Dairy Division in the UK. The company was founded by Emanuele Saputo Sr. in September 1954 and is headquartered in Montreal, Canada.
