It operates through the following business segments: Long-Term Care, Retirement Living, Home Health Care, and Other Services. The Long-Term Care segment represents long-term care centers the company owns and operates in the country. The Retirement Living segment includes acquired retirement communities, and newly constructed and opened communities. The Other Services segment also offers contract services, consulting and group purchasing services to third parties. The company was founded by Harold Livergant and John MacKay on August 7, 1968 and is headquartered in Markham, Canada.
